Assignment of a single Project Manager to each project.
Preparation and approval of the work plan by the project team and all associated stakeholders. The work plan defines roles and responsibilities and expectations for project deliverables.
Utilization of earned value tracking tools allowing early identification and correction of potential issues.
Effective up-front and two-way communications and coordination within our organization and between the project stakeholders.
Project-level change management and control capabilities associated with maintaining performance objectives for project cost, schedule, quality, and technical excellence.

These project practices ensure performance of work without adverse surprises. Such surprises could include uncommunicated cost overruns, uncommunicated schedule slips, or uncommunicated technical challenges that could result in cost overruns.
